Em 2020 a 48ª edição, programada inicialmente para o mês de abril, acontece em versão "online" de 30 de outubro a 8 de novembro, mantendo-se sediada na Escola Superior de Música e Artes de Espetáculo, co-produtora deste evento em associação com a ESTA Portugal. Reunindo professores, investigadores e performers de instrumentos de cordas está subordinada ao tema "Pontes entre investigação e prática".
Da programação da 48ª Conferência Internacional ESTA faz parte o concerto pela Orquestra de Cordas de Matosinhos no Teatro Helena Sá e Costa. Dia 7 de novembro, sábado, 18h00.
ESTA (European String Teachers Association) é uma organização não governamental fundada em 1972 na Áustria por um pequeno grupo de professores de cordas formado por Marianne Kroemer, Max Rostal e Yehudi Menuhin.
A ESTA foi fundada com o objetivo de promover elevados padrões artísticos e pedagógicos no ensino dos instrumentos de cordas e proporcionar um espaço aberto para a partilha de conhecimentos entre professores e performers dos diferentes países da Europa.
ESTA é uma organização que se compõe de mais de 27 delegações nacionais, envolvendo cerca de 5.000 professores de violino, viola, violoncelo e contrabaixo. A Conferência Internacional é o seu evento mais importante e acontece uma vez por ano numa cidade europeia.
The ESTA Portugal Branch is delighted to be hosting the 48th Online International ESTA Conference from October 30th to November 8th 2020. The conference theme is “Bridges between research and practice”. This theme is closely related to the recent changes in Portuguese music education. The implementation of new policies allowed for the creation of new schools and instrumental courses for an increasing number of pupils. At the same time there has been a generative approach from the Universities that now offer several Masters and Doctorate programs where aspiring and established teachers can develop their pedagogical and didactic skills.
Although the aforementioned growth has been remarkable, we find that our colleagues are constantly searching for new approaches and knowledge that has scientific support to help their everyday practice. Therefore, our aim for this conference is to enrich the perspectives on both sides as well as filling possible gaps that still exist in research and practice. For this reason, we would like to appeal to the teachers, students and researchers of the ESTA family and provide the best conditions possible to join forces with us to create, develop and disseminate our collective knowledge and experience about string teaching.
