A ESMAE irá acolher nas suas instalações e ser coorganizadora da 52ª Conferência Internacional do ESTA (European String Teachers Association), que irá decorrer de 23 a 27 de março de 2024, e contará com mais de meia centena de apresentações, incluindo palestras, workshops, masterclasses e concertos. Sob o tema "Connecting People" (‘Conectando Pessoas’), esta conferência reúne professores, investigadores e performers de instrumentos de cordas, proporcionando também inúmeras oportunidades formais e informais para a partilha de ideias e experiências com profissionais de todo o mundo. Durante a Conferência, mais especificamente de 23 a 26 de março, o público geral poderá visitar gratuitamente a exposição Luthiers de instrumentos musicais, partituras e acessórios. ESTA (European String Teachers Association) é uma organização não governamental fundada em 1972 na Áustria por um pequeno grupo de professores de cordas formado por Marianne Kroemer, Max Rostal e Yehudi Menuhin. Um dos objetivos da ESTA é promover elevados padrões artísticos e pedagógicos no ensino dos instrumentos de cordas e proporcionar um espaço aberto para a partilha de conhecimentos entre professores e performers dos diferentes países da Europa. Composta por mais de 27 delegações nacionais, a Associação envolve cerca de 5.000 professores de violino, viola, violoncelo e contrabaixo. A Conferência Internacional é o um dos eventos mais importantes e acontece uma vez por ano numa cidade europeia.
Este ano a ESTA Portugal assinala o seu 10º aniversário e através desta Conferência pretende destacar, enquanto representantes de diferentes comunidades educativas e culturais, o que liga professores e alunos. Sob o tema “Conectando Pessoas” a conferência pretende fortalecer conexões e trilhar caminhos no ensino da música.

EN | ESMAE will be hosting and co-organizing the 52nd ESTA International Conference, which will take place from March 23rd to 27th, 2024, and will feature more than half a hundred presentations, including talks, workshops, masterclasses and concerts. With the theme "Connecting People", this conference brings together teachers, researchers and performers of string instruments, as well as providing numerous formal and informal opportunities to share ideas and experiences with professionals from all over the world. During the conference, specifically from the 23rd to the 26th, the general public will be able to visit the exhibition of luthiers, musical instruments, sheet music and accessories, with free entry. ESTA (European String Teachers Association) is a non-governmental organisation enjoying consultative status with the Council of Europe. In 1972 a small group of eminent string teachers (Marianne Kroemer, Max Rostal and Yehudi Menuhin), founded ESTA to promote the highest standards in teaching and to enable the sharing of ideas among string teachers and players of all distinctions throughout Europe. ESTA is an umbrella organisation of over 32 national branches involving more than 5000 individual teachers of violin, viola, cello and double bass.
This year ESTA Portugal is marking its 10th anniversary and through this conference it aims to highlight, as representatives of different educational and cultural communities, what connects teachers and students. Under the theme "Connecting People", the conference aims to strengthen connections and forge new paths in music education.
